Mount

At 5th Level, the Jagger is able to choose whether he or she wants a Mount or a Pack.

If the character chooses a Mount, then he or she gains a special riding mount that is superior to a normal mount of its kind. The Jagger must choose an animal that is physically large enough to carry him or her (so a Large mount for a Medium character, or a Medium mount for a Small character). The CR of this base animal cannot be more than 3, and the Jagger must find, purchase, or in some other way obtain the base animal for it to be made a mount. The mount is hereafter a Magical Beast, and it obtains special powers and score adjustments based on the character’s level.

Level-Based Changes to the Mount

1.) Bonus HD – The mount gains extra Hit Die and corresponding Vitality Points as the Jagger‘s level increases.
2.) Natural Armor Increase – The mount’s natural armor increases as the Jagger‘s level increases.
3.) Strength Adjustment – The mount’s Strength ability increase as the Jagger‘s level increases.
4.) Intelligence – The mount’s Intelligence score also increases as the Jagger’s level increases, far beyond that of a simple animal (which has a score of less than 3). From the point at which the animal becomes a mount, it is sentient (though it may not necessarily be able to speak).
5.) Special – Other special abilities are obtained by the mount as the Jagger’s level increases.
